I recently found that I had too much stuff in my home and I needed to get rid of most of it. It simply does not make sense to keep so much stuff that I never use, or even look at. The first thing I would like to buy for my home is a coffee grinder. So you’re in need of a garbage disposal replacement?  I replaced mine a few months ago and there are a few things that I found out.  I got about 4 estimates as advised and the labor costs ranged from $150-$200.  I also checked the cost of a new garbage disposal installation that was the same horsepower, brand and model as my old one.  Garbage disposals are standardized sizes so it was easy to determine the proper size.

So I finally got the new garbage disposal home and started to get worried about having to do this myself.  I even checked out a YouTube video instructing me on how to do this.  I got out the instructions and started to clean the work area out under my sink.  I laid down drop cloths to catch the excess water that could leak out of the pipes. I had to get right in there, working upside down with a flashlight.

I had to loosen the drainage pipe, the drainpipe, and then the mounting rings.  I almost dropped the disposal at that point so just be ready and remember that a garbage disposal is kind of heavy.  Putting the new one into the exact same place was harder than taking the old one out.

I took a look at the old unit and lucky for me I had nearly the exact same model to work with.  I figured as long as they looked the same I just had to put the new one in there pretty easily.  It all fit in there perfectly and all I had to was make sure it was assembled according the included instructions and as it was the old one was assembled.
