If you drive a car, do you ever consider the cost to be a car driver? It isn’t as cheap as we would like to think. After all, there are dozens of ways we are wasting money on our vehicles. - Buy the car. Sometimes we are lucky and get a great deal like with interest free credit or even nothing to pay for the first six months, which can help us to save money. But sometimes we don’t, and it’s easy to be wasting a lot of money on our car repayments.
- Pay for gas. The price of gasoline is higher than ever thanks to poor relations with the countries that extract oil, most notable Russia, Iran, and also Venezuela. This pushes prices up.
- Maintenance charges. The price of car maintenance varies a lot, but generally it can be quite expensive.
- Replacement parts. If you have to replace your car tires, expect to waste hundreds of dollars.
- Parking fees. The price of car parking is different from place to place, but if you live in a big city it can be pretty expensive.
- Get repairs done. If you need to repair your car, you might be hit with a bill for a few thousand dollars.
- Pay road tax. We all pay road tax, although sometimes we don’t know about it. In some countries it is hidden in income tax, but roads certainly aren’t free.
- Buy insurance. To remain legal, every car driver has to pay for car insurance. The price can be kept low if you are under the age of 25 by looking for the best young driver car insurance deals. And if you intend to drive only from time to time then you migt get great savings on short term car insurance.
